Listeners are surprised to
hear that jazz performed with only upright bass and vocals can sound so
good. This unique duo carries listeners back in time when legends such
as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday ruled the stage. With their hunger to learn jazz standards
primarily from the 30s and 40s, "Beauty and the Bass" seek to carry out the true spirit
of the songs while giving each performance a unique flavor.
"Beauty and the Bass" perform as a minimalistic duo, but can add backing
tracks or additional musicians as needed.

Kai Brant performed extensively as a
singer/songwriter throughout London and Southern California before deciding to
pursue her love of jazz.
Growing up, she mentored jazz songstresses Nancy Wilson, Billie Holiday
and Peggy Lee. Her extraordinary voice revives the songs of these women
and others brought to her musical palate. Brant's sultry vocals seek to give her audience
the spirit of an era by using her voice and grace as a reminder of those
exceptional women who once lived. Because of her extraordinary talent, she has been engaged to perform at the finest
establishments, such as as The Four Seasons Resort in Las Vegas and the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, as well as at various art galleries,
weddings and corporate events.
